Luis Enrique: “We know Luis Suarez's being scrutinized”

Barcelona travel to Real Sociedad tomorrow - the Catalans have not managed to win in San Sebastián since La Real were promoted in 2007. Luis Enrique previewed the game in the company of the press.

Barça bad run at Anoeta: “It doesn't only stretch back to our last five visits. La Real returned to the top flight nine years ago and Barça haven't been able to win there since before then. It's something that we have to analyze because the pitch there is always pristine, so that's not a factor. It's a long run without a positive result in San Sebastián and we need to think about why we haven't been able to win there. It won't be a simple game. We're in a situation where we need to show that we are strong and assertive. This is an incredibly tough away trip. No team in Spain has the figures which La Real have managed against visiting teams, it's the toughest away game of the season”.

Title race: “Winning tomorrow doesn't mean we are closer to winning the league. There are a lot of games left, despite the distance in points. It's always difficult to win matches and games are always evenly-balanced; until it's mathematically guaranteed, forget it”.

Real Sociedad coach, Eusebio Sacristán: “He was never one to talk about fear when talking about football - whoever he faced. He has brought order and defensive and attacking concepts to La Real. He's a very intelligent man, a great guy and a great coach”.

Luis Suárez: “He's very intelligent and knows the situation in which he came to the club and also knows that partly because of that, he will always be under the microscope. Everyone defends their own role and we try to utilize the resources we have to play football… The ones who will decide are the referees. I talk to Luis about a lot of things every day. Here in Spain, the only ones who can stick the boot in and nothing happens are defenders. If a striker who is difficult to contain is on the ball and clashes with an opponent, people start taking issue. He's Uruguayan, - in both his personality and character. He's doing really well but we know that he is being closely scrutinized; but he should continue the same as he has been doing, and by being honest. He can't play tomorrow? Wat do you want me to do about it?. Someone else will play. I love the fact that he is so demanding. There is no player in the world like him. He's vital”.
