Diego Maradona claims that Messi lacks the personality to be a leader

Diego Maradona was participating at a publicity event in París and was in no doubt about who his player of the tournament will be.

Diego Maradona participated in a promotional event in Paris and cast his opinion about the Euro 2016 tournament which kicks off tomorrow in Paris. Brazilian legend, Pelé also attended the event and both participated in a Q&A event.

Pelé asked Maradona if he knew Lionel Messi in person. The Argentine responded "Yes, he's a nice guy but he lacks personality. He doesn't have the personality to be a leader".

Maradona alos took time to preview the Euro 2016 tournament and affirmed that there were certain players he was excited to see in action in France."Hazard, De Bruyne, Rooney, Iniesta...these are the players that make you want to sit in front of the television. The legendary number 10 felt that there were no clear favorites admitting that "England had improved  recently".

Maradona was in no doubt however about who was going to be the key figure at the tournament, . "Cristiano Ronaldo, without a doubt. He's one of those players that could see his team through to the final single-handedly.
