Marotta: "Pogba to United? At the moment it's at a standstill"
FRANCK FIFEAFP

Giuseppe Marotta, Juventus director general, has confirmed that talks between the club and Manchester United over the potential transfer of Paul Pogba are “at a standstill.”

"We'll see"

Speaking to reporters outside the headquarters of the Italian Professional Football League, where Marotta was depositing the paperwork for the Gonzalo Higuaín deal, the Juve executive refused to be drawn further on the negotiations and ended the journalist’s audience with a pithy “we’ll see” before driving off.

Raiola fee

Pogba remains on holiday in Miami where he has been joined by his agent Mino Raiola as the matter unfolds. Despite reports in Italy and the UK stating that a deal had been agreed the major stumbling block remains the fee Raiola expects to pocket for brokering the agreement: 25 million euros.

Juventus are unwilling to fork out for Raiola’s services and Manchester United are equally reluctant to foot the bill, which would take the overall cost of signing a player Old Trafford let go in 2012.
