Kroos and Carvajal, only injury-free first team players

Nine of Zidane's first team players have already missed at least one game of the current 2016/17 campaign due to injury.

Real Madrid are suffering with a spate of injury problems and the season is just nine games old. Nine of Zinedine Zidane's key starters have suffered at some point of the current campaign with captain Sergio Ramos the latest casualty. Only Toni Kroos and defender Dani Carvajal have managed to avoid sustaining injury in the current campaign.

Other squad players who have suffered are James, Isco,Varane and Coentrao, who came back on loan from Mónaco carrying a knock.

Keylor Navas: The goalkeeper underwent an operation on his foot and has missed games against Sporting Lisbon, the final of the UEFA Super Cup and LaLiga clashes against Real Sociedad, Celta, Osasuna, Espanyol and Villarreal.

Pepe: The Portuguese defender returned to the squad carrying a Euro 2016 sustained muscular problem. In the league game against Espanyol the player suffered another blow with a knee injury. He's missed league games against Real Sociedad, Villarreal and Las Palmas.

Ramos: The defender from Camas is the latest casualty sustainoing a twisted knee last night in Spain's 2018 World Cup qualifyer in Albania. He's expected to miss a month of action.

Marcelo: The Brazilian pulled up with a muscular problem in the league game at home to Villarreal. As a result he missed the Champions League game away to Borussia Dortmund and league games against Las Palmas and Éibar. The defender is expected to play a role in Saturday's LaLiga game away to Real Betis on Saturday.

Casemiro: The midfielder sustained a shin problem in the away game against Espanyol. He's already missed the Borussia Dortmund game along with league matches against Villarreal, Las Palmas and Éibar. He's yet to rejoin the squad for normal training.

Modric: The Croatian underwent surgery on a left knee problem on October 2. He  missed the 1-1 draw against Eibar at the Bernabeu and is expected to be out for at least another month.

Bale: The Welsh international picked up a knock during the Champions League tie at home against Sporting and missed the Espanyol game as a result.

Benzema: A recurring hip problem saw the French striker miss the opening LaLiga games against Real Sociedad and Celta.

Cristiano: The player from Madeira twisted his knee in the final of Euro 2016 and missed the opening LaLiga contests against Real Sociedad and Celta. A flu virus sidelined the striker for away game against Espanyol in Barcelona.
