It emerged this week that Michael Gallup is set to leave the Cowboys for the Las Vegas Raiders, after agreeing a one-year contract in exchange for $3 million, according to Adam Schefter and Jeremy Fowler. As of the moment, the contract has yet to be formalized. The Cowboys released Gallup on 15 March in a move to open $9.5 million in salary cap space.

Gallup signed a five-year deal worth $57.5 million deal with the Cowboys in 2022 while sidelined with an ACL tear. But he struggled to recover his previous form on his return. Gallup caught 73 passes for 842 yards and six touchdowns and did not record a 100-yard game in the regular season in 2022 and 2023. He underwent surgery again in February 2023 to clean up the inside of his right knee and ankle. He had 34 catches for 418 yards and scored two touchdowns in 17 games in 2023.

The 28-year-old, who started 67 of 86 games during his six-year career, had previously been linked with a move to the Baltimore Ravens.

Gallup played his first six seasons after being drafted in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft; His best season being 2019 when he caught 66 passes for 1,107 yards and scored six touchdowns. Last year the receiver recorded 34 receptions for 418 yards and two touchdowns.
