BOXING

When is the Jake Paul-Mike Tyson fight press conference?

The Youtube star and the former heavyweight king will fight in Arlington (TX) next July.

Update:
Reporte: Jake Paul se enfrentaría a Mike Tyson antes de que termine el año

YouTube star and professional boxer, Jake Paul, and heavyweight boxing legend, Mike Tyson, will meet in a historic fight on July 20 at the AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas.

At 58 years old, Tyson returns to the ring, aiming to add another victory to his professional record.

Initially, it was suggested that the Netflix supported bout would probably be an exhibition, it has been confirmed that both men will meet in a professional fight in July.

The fight will be contested over eight, two-minute rounds with traditional boxing bouts covering anywhere from four to 12 rounds, each one being three minutes long.

Tyson and Paul will both use 14-ounce gloves, not 10-ounce ones, and another of the big differences is that judges will determine a winner at the end of the clash. That means that one of the fighters can win the fight on points, whereas without judges, there would only be a winner if the fight ended in a knockout.

Tickets for the Texas fight

The 27-year-old YouTuber Paul, confirmed that tickets will be available as of 16 May.

“Tickets go on sale Thursday, May 16. If you signed up for the presale, you’ll have access a few days in advance,” Paul wrote on social media, indicating that those registered will be able to get their tickets before the general public.

Tyson-Paul press conference

The official pre-fight press conference will be staged in New York on 13 May at the legendary Apollo Theatre in Harlem.

Paul, Tyson along with Katie Taylor who is also fighting Amanda Serrano on the same 20 July Texas bill will also be in attendance at the event.

Anyone in NYC will be excited to know that attendance to the press conference is free with doors at the Apollo opening at 4:30 pm (ET) and the event itself set to commence an hour later.

For those unable to attend the event in New York, the press conference will be streamed on both Netflix and promoter MVP’s respective Youtube channels.

Our very own Roddy will also be covering the main talking points from the Apollo Theatre as the live press conference unfolds.
