Following her phenomenal first major win at the US Open in 2023, Coco Gauff continues to demonstrate that she’s among the world’s best and more over, can get better. Of course, there is also the question of her bank balance, which it has to be said will look very nice if she manages to do the business in Australia.

Australian Open singles winner earns $2.13 million

For perspective, the women’s singles title winner at the Australian Open this year will pocket $2.13 million. That would be a nice bumper for Gauff, whose current career earnings stand at approximately $8.1 million from both singles and doubles tournaments she has played on the ITF and WTA tours.

Gauff has already reached a doubles grand slam final at the US Open in 2021, but in singles, she had never been beyond the fourth round of a major until 2023′s French Open. Her first Tour-level victory came in 2019 at the Linz Open, where she qualified as a lucky loser and beat 2017 French Open champion Jelena Ostapenko in the final, making her the youngest player to win a WTA title since 2004.

Gauff’s off-court earnings

Earlier the same year, she became the youngest player in the Open Era to qualify for the main draw at Wimbledon, where she beat Venus Williams in the first round and made it to the fourth, losing to eventual champion Simona Halep. Naturally, her eye-catching run had sponsors lining up to sign her up, and Forbes estimated she was already making $1 million a year in endorsements in 2019, a figure that now stands closer to $4m per year.

Among the companies that sponsor Gauff are New Balance, Head (which supplies her rackets), Barilla, which also sponsors Roger Federer, and American Eagle.
