Zidane's Madrid on track to beat 121 Mourinho goal record
With 64 goals scored in 22 fixtures, Madrid are on track to pass 100 league goals. Under Zidane they are averaging 4.25 per game.
Real Madrid are the highest scoring side in LaLiga with 64 goals. They lead Barcelona by ten (54) and are 29 ahead of Eibar, who are the third highest league scorers this season with the Basque side netting on 35 occasions.. They are also the highest scoring side in all of Europe’s major domestic leagues, ahead of the likes of: Dortmund (52), PSG (58), Manchester City (45) y Napoli (50).
Madrid have found the back of the opposition net on 64 occasions in the 22 league games they have disputed in the 2015/16 season to date and are on track to overcome the 100 league goals landmark. With Rafa Benitez on the bench, Madrid had netted on 47 times and has added to that tally with 17 goals in Zidane’s four games in charge. The side have gone from an average of 2.6 goals per game to a remarkable 4,25 under the supervision of the French coach, although he has had the benefit of three homes games against weaker opposition.
If Madrid maintains this striking rhythm, they are on track to bag 132 LaLiga goals and create a new record. In the 2011/12 season, Madrid under the guidance of Portuguese coach, Jose Mourinho managed to score 121 league goals which is the current record for the Spanish league. Zidane’s side need to find the net 57 times to equal that record with 58 LaLiga strikes creating a new record. In order to keep on track for this milestone, they need to maintain a 3.6 goals per game ration in the 16 league fixtures that remain in the current season. Since Zidane’s arrival at the Bernabeu bench he has seen his team manage an impressive 4.25 goals per match.
