It will be a weakened Athletic side that turns out at the Bernabéu next Saturday at 4pm, thanks in part to suspensions picked up in today’s rain sodden 0-0 draw against Villarreal at San Mamés. Midfielder Miker San José will be out of the match against the capital side, having picked up his fifth Liga yellow card this evening.

Also missing will be striker Iñaki Williams who was sent off right before full time, for his second yellow.

Athletic coach Valverde will also have to contend with the absence of Raúl García and Ibai Gómez for the trip to Madrid, with both players out injured.

The one bright light is that Athletic will have Oscar de Marcos back. He was out suspended for this evening's game.
