Leicester can go five points clear with victory over Benítez's boys tonight - and manager Claudio Ranieri admits his side are "ready for a battle" against the relegation-threatened Magpies.
Benítez believes: Newcastle's new boss is confident that he has enough quality and time at his disposal to avoid the drop to the Championship.
The Newcastle and Leicester teams are out:
Leicester City: Schmeichel; Simpson, Huth, Morgan (c), Fuchs; Mahrez, Kante, Drinkwater, Albrighton; Okazaki, Vardy.
Newcastle United: Elliot; Janmaat, Taylor, Lascelles, Colback; Sissoko, Anita, Shelvey, Ayoze Pérez; Wijnaldum, Mitrovic.
19th-place Newcastle, meanwhile, find themselves a point from safety (but with a game in hand over Norwich a place above them, and having played two fewer than Sunderland in 17th) and hoping new manager Rafa Benítez, taking charge of the side for the first time against Claudio Ranieri's men, can lead them away from trouble.
Title-chasing Leicester come into the encounter sitting pretty at the top of the table, two points ahead of a Tottenham Hotspur side who - having beaten basement boys Aston Villa on Sunday - have played one more than the Foxes.
