The 'BBC' have yet to savour a 'Clásico' win
Real Madrid have lost to Barça on each of the three occasions that the components of the 'BBC' strike force (Bale, Cristiano and Benzema) have featured in.
Real Madrid have always lost to Barcelona when Bale, Cristiano and Benzema have coincided in the Madrid team on the three occasions that they have lined up to face Barcelona. In fact since Gareth Bale's time at the club, Madrid have only managed two wins against Barça: the 2014 Copa del Rey final in Valencia and a league win last season at the Bernabéu. Cristiano was absent through injury for the cup win whilst the Welsh international missed the LaLiga win again due to injury last season.
In the past two and a half seasons Madrid have won twice and lost once without the BBC startling along with the three defeats with the trident playing together. Bale's first taste of "El Clasico" was October 23, 2013. Carlo Ancelotti on that occasion decided to leave Benzema on the bench and he replaced Bale in the 60th minute of the game. Madrid fell 2-1 and it's the only defeat in recent times without all three on the pitch at the same time.
In March 2014 Barça were the visitors at the Bernabéu as Bale, Benzema and Cristiano all started for the home side as Madrid lost a thrilling contest 3-4. Madrid soon got revenge on their eternal rival in the final of the Spanish cup at Mestalla where Cristiano missed the game as an incredible run and finish from Gareth Bale secured the title for the team from the capital
Both sides only faced each other twice last season. Madrid won the first meeting 3-1 but on that day Bale was absent with an injury. Since that win, two more Clásicos have taken place with the BBC starting in both. The Camp Nou hosted a 2-1 win with Ancelotti on the Madrid bench and earlier this season a sublime performance from the Catalan side saw Luis Enrique's men romp home 0-4 at the Bernabeu with Rafa Benítez overseeing the Madrid side.
The main doubt for Zidane in starting the trio is allowing Baça to dominate proceedings in the middle of the field with his defence being more exposed. In all Madrid-Barça games the BBC have featured in, the goals against tally for Madrid is 3,3 per game whilst the side from the capital have only conceded 1,33 goals per match in those games that the strike force have not been involved in. Next Saturday everything points to the French coach starting with Bale, Benzema and Cristiano as starters as they will be afforded with a new chance to break this Barça hoodoo.
