Real Madrid - Atletico in the Champions League 2015/16 final in Milan: how the fans see it
A survey conducted on as.com shows that fans have little faith in Manchester City or Bayern Munich.
There is a big chance that lightning will strike twice in Milan's May Champions League final repeating an historic night in Lisbon, 2014.
At least there is if you listen to fans who completed a survey on as.com - 77% of fans believe that Real Madrid are going to send Manchester City out unfulfilled with their first ever semi, and 62% believe that Atletico Madrid will ruin Pep's grand finale with Bayern.
The internauts believe Real Madrid are more likely to say adiós to City than Atleti are to pip Pep to the post in Milan.
Spain is the only country on the European continent ever to have had two teams in a Champions League final more than once: Real Madrid beat Rafa Benitez' Valencia 3-0 in 2000, and of course that famous night in Lisbon when Real Madrid ran out eventual 4-1 winners against with 1-1 on the scoreline at the end of regulation time.
Madrid is also the only city to ever have been represented with two teams in a Champions League final.
The portents have an auspicious air about them for Real Madrid, City will have to fight the vertigo as the club have never climbed these heights of the competition before, but the historical knock-out count weighs in Madrid's favour: 2012-13 saw the two sides duel in the group stage with los blancos winning 3-2 at the Bernabéu and draw 1-1 at the Etihad.
That was the only time the two teams have met in Europe.
Atlético Madrid will have a much more dramatic, albeit distant, memory of Bayern Munich; a European Cup final against the German side. That took place in Brussel's Heysel stadium in 1974, which ended 0-0 after 90 minutes, Luis Aragonés raised rojiblanco heartrates with a goal on 114' but six minutes later Munich's Schwarzenbeck levelled affairs with los colchoneros a caress away from the trophy.
As there was no extra time in those days, a repeat match was played two days later on May 17 and the Germans ran riot with a 4-0 win.
Both the blanco and the rojiblanco side of Madrid will be hoping at very least to be booking flights to Milan in May.
