Next season the city of Manchester is set to stage the revival of one of football’s greatest recent battles – José Mourinho v Pep Guardiola.
And what better way than to mastermind your new battle strategy from a castle, right? That is perhaps what Mourinho was thinking when he decided he would buy one this week.

The new Man United coach has reportedly decided to swap his family home in London for a 17 hectare fortress in North Wales, which comes with four floors, six bedrooms, five bathrooms and luxurious surroundings. All for a cool £3.9 million (€5 million).
The castle – conveniently located in Ruthin, North Wales, and just a one hour’s drive from United’s Carrington training ground – was built in 1977 by architect John Taylor and has been recently renovated according to real estate agency Luxury Portfolio.
