Budget airline Ryanair has dedicated an aeroplane to Cristiano Ronaldo to celebrate the opening of a new line to Funchal, on the Real Madrid player’s native Madeira.

The new liner has been dubbed Ryanaldo in honour of the Portugal captain, whose name now also adorns the airport in Funchal after the country’s success at the European Championship.

It is not the first time the low-cost airline has used Spanish football for a bit of publicity. Last season the carrier had a bit of fun with Gary Neville when the Englishman's short tenure at Valencia came to an end.
