Real Madrid have released their squad list for their European Super Cup tie against Sevilla on Tuesday (9 August), and both Pepe and Cristiano are officially ruled out.
Bale, Kroos and Benzema all included but remain doubts
However, included in the 25-man list are Gareth Bale, Toni Kroos and Karim Benzema, whose chances of playing the game or not in Norway have been somewhat clouded with mystery over the last few days. Their presence in the squad comes only hours after Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane revealed that he didn’t think the trio would be available for the all-Spanish final.
Benzema has been unable to train with the rest of the group or participate in any of Madrid’s preseason matches, while Bale and Kroos will not return to the fold until Saturday 6 August (only three days before the Super Cup) after having been given extended breaks.
Jesé makes list, despite PSG move
Others who make the list include Castilla’s Rubén Yáñez, Philipp Lienhart, Martin Ødegaard, Marcos Llorente and Mariano Díaz. Jesé is also incuded, despite his imminent loan move to PSG.
The rest of the squad are: Keylor Navas, Kiko Casilla, Carvajal, Danilo, Sergio Ramos, Varane, Nacho, Marcelo, James, Casemiro, Kovacic, Modric, Isco, Asensio, Lucas and Álvaro Morata.
