Closed doors for Madrid visit

UEFA's Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body has declared that the Legia Warsaw's stadium will be closed to the public and a they will be fined 80,000 euros for incidents caused by their fans in the Champions League group match against Dortmund.

As has been reported on the Polish club's website, they must comply with the closure of their stadium for the visit of Real Madrid in game four of the group stages. This is set scheduled for Wednesday 2 November. Before that, the Polish side will play the reverse fixture at the Bernabéu on Tuesday 18 October.

Nasty scenes

The incidents related to the sanction took place in the first match of the group stage against German league runners-up Dortmund. In the first half, with their team already 0-3 down security agents were forced to intervene as Legia ultras used pepper spray on them and they were charged with crowd disturbances and racist behaviour plus four other cases.

Officials at Legia Warsaw have said that they will appeal the decision.
