The former Real Madrid keeper and captain, Iker Casillas, spoke ahead of the hotly awaited Madrid derby on Saturday (20:45 CET) and also discussed Cristiano Ronaldo's recent contract renewal and Morata's increasinly prominent role for club and country.
On the Madrid derby
Casillas was confident of his former team coming out on top in Saturday's derby, particularly in view of the must-win situation for Los Rojiblancos: "Obviously I hope Real Madrid win, but it's a game with a lot surrounding it and for Atlético it's critical because if they don't it could leave a big dent on their title hopes. If they do win, though, they will gains some ground on leaders Real Madrid," the Porto shotstopper said.
Cristiano's shiny new contract
"I think it's good. Cristiano is a fantastic player who has given Real Madrid a lot in recent years. Clearly, he'll win over the fans but now it depends on him, because more is going to be demanded of him and he's going to be the one who sets the limits. Hopefully Cristiano will be around for a long time".
