Adalberto Peñaranda has arrived in Malaga to undergo the first part of his medical that should be completed on Tuesday. The Venezuelan striker has already agreed to sign for Malaga until June 30th and will be the first reinforcement for Malaga in the January transfer window.
Peñaranda moved from Granada to Watford this past summer and moved on loan to Udinese where he has played just a handful of time. He struggled with fitness but he is over those issues and is ready to help Malaga make their way up the table folowing the departure of Juande Ramos. He will become the fourth Venezuelan in the squad with Rosales, Mikel Villanueva and Juanpi Añor.
Peñaranda holds a non-EU passport and Malaga have their quota filled up on Rosales, Michael Santos and Weligton. The latter is one of the most charismatic leaders on the team but has publicly stated he would be willing to make his place available for a reinforcement. It would not mean he has to leave the club but would not be able to be named in the squad for LaLiga, which would suit the club also as he recovers from a knee injury.
