Media in England seem convinced that James is a target for the Premier League club and they will continue to pursue the Colombian attacker

James has insisted that he will stay at Real Madrid but English media are convinced that the player wants to move to the Premier League next season. The Mirror claim that Manchester United have made the Colombian their top priority next season.

Advanced talks

They specifically state that Ed Woodward has held talks with Jorge Mendes over the transfer. It appears that the initial negotiations have been well received on both ends and a transfer proposal seems likely. Jose Mourinho is said to be keen on a move for the attacker while any potential bid would be to the liking of Real Madrid.

James has played in just nine games in LaLiga this season and has been overlooked on occasion by Zinedine Zidane and has been fighting his corner regarding his future at Real Madrid for some time now. He started and starred in Real's victory over Sevilla in the Copa del Rey recently which may have forced Zidane to reconsider James' role at the club but it remains to be seen how Real Madrid would approach an offer for the Colombian.

Update 12 May 2017: James has reached an initial agreement with Manchester United.
