Real Madrid: Injury crisis sees Zidane urged to give youth a go

Luis Miguel Ramis has taken to Twitter to push the claims of Real academy stars as a solution to the injuries in the first team.

Castilla's former coach has urged Zinedine Zidane to turn to the young talent in Real Madrid's second team to solve the injury crisis in the senior squad.

"Problems at full-back? Achraf. Problems in midfield? Febas"

Full-backs Marcelo and Dani Carvajal are both injured, with playmaker Luka Modric also sidelined and James Rodríguez missing recent games with a calf issue.

And Luis Miguel Ramis, who took over from Zidane at Castilla after the Frenchman's promotion to the first-team dugout, reacted by pointing to two men in particular.

"Problems at full-back? Achraf. Problems in midfield? Aleix Febas. Would've burst if I hadn't said it. Hala Madrid!!!" tweeted Ramis, who left the club in the summer.

Febas: experience of working with Zidane

Febas has been a key figure for Castilla this season, featuring 21 times and chipping in with three goals, and played under Zidane during his spell at the helm.

The 20-year-old was included in Real's pre-season tour to the United States, coming on as a substitute in the friendlies against Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea.

Achraf: full international with Morocco

Right-back Achraf, meanwhile, is in his first term with Castilla, making 15 appearances so far and earning an international debut with Morocco in October.

Like Febas, 18-year-old Achraf also travelled with Madrid's seniors to the US last summer, and was given run-outs against PSG and Chelsea.
