Bad weather
While this weekend's fixtures between Deportivo and Betis and Celta's meeting with Real Madrid had to be called off due to adverse weather conditions in northern Spain, Real Sociedad's encounter with Osasuna went ahead as normal despite torrential rain and gale-force winds in San Sebastián.

Less than an hour before kick-off, Anoeta was engulfed in a heavy downpour which was captured by Carrusel Deportivo and had groundsmen battling to ensure the match went ahead on time.

Additional problems
Real Sociedad coach Eusebio said his team had two obstacles to contend with - the meteorlogical conditions and an Osasuna side who are fighting for their lives at the bottom of the table, and who put in another strong performance under new coach Petar Vasiljevi. "Victory tastes twice as sweet because we faced a lot of difficulties during the match – and not just the weather", the coach told the club's television channel after the game. "Osasuna also gave us a lot of problems but overcoming all of the obstacles we were against us tonight will boost morale and give the team new strength".
