Real Madrid are not among the top 20 teams with the most average possession in Europe this season. In the list published by the Daily Star, there are four Spanish, three German, five English and five Italian teams.

Barcelona, a team that plays a possession-based style almost religiously, are second with 61.7% and just behind Carlo Ancelotti's Bayern Munich. PSG under Unai Emery are characterized by holding possession and Pep Guardiola's Manchester City sit in fourth.

Napoli, who are level with Liverpool with 58.8%, as Real Madrid welcome them to the capital next week in the Champions League. It will be interesting to see how the two teams approach the game.
