Croatian coach Ivan Juric has been sacked from his position at Genoa following this weekend's 5-0 trouncing to Pescara. The Serie A side have brought in Andrea Mandorlini as a replacement.
"Genoa Cricket and Football Club announces that Ivan Juric has been relieved from his duties as first team coach. We wish him all the best for the future. Andrea Mandorlini has been appointed coach of the first team squad. His contract will expire in June 2018", a club statement read.
Mandorlini, who as a player spent seven years with Inter Milan, had been inactive since he was dismissed from the Verona job in 2015, having led the club back to Serie A from the third tier of Italian football. His former clubs include Atalanta and Sassuolo, he takes over at Genoa on an 17-month deal.
Sunday's defeat leaves Genoa 11 points above the relegation zone in 16th.
