REAL MADRID
Raphael Varane coud be out for weeks with tests due on Friday
The central defender pulled up late last night and was substituted after 73 minutes and is likely to miss a number of matches for Real Madrid, forcing Zidane to consider his centre-back options
Update:
Raphael Varane could be set for weeks on the sideline after he injured his thigh muscle against Valencia on Wednesday night. The medical staff at the club will not know the extent of the injury as they wait for the inflammation to die down and as a result, he will undergo tests on Friday.
As a precaution, he will almost definitely miss the Villarreal game at the weekend when Real Madrid face Fran Escriba's side late on Sunday night.
Zidane's options
Zinedine Zidane has Sergio Ramos, Pepe and Nacho as his options but with the Champions League kicking into gear and the loss to Valencia meaning they can ill afford to rotate too much with the starting line-up, rest will be limited for the defenders.
