Luis Enrique held his first press conference after announcing he is to leave Barcelona at the end of the season and spoke about his decision ahead of the game against Celta at Camp Nou on Saturday.
"I don't know how to switch off"
“I feel relieved and focused on the rest of the season. I was clear and spoke at length after the game against Sporting. Both myself and the club have been very up front. There are clubs where the involvement is greater and I don’t know how to switch off. It’s not a general thing and I see other coaches who enjoy themselves no end but that’s not the case with me. I have a great relationship with my players and I’m not leaving because we’re going to do each other any harm.”
Looking ahead to the Celta match, Luis Enrique said he was expecting a tough game against a side he knows well enough after coaching at Balaídos before moving to Camp Nou. “It’s going to be a difficult game against an opponent that defends and puts pressure on across the pitch. They are one of the toughest sides in the league and they beat us at Camp Nou. They have a lot of quality and we will have to be at our best. They like to get into one-on-one situations, they press well and it will be a difficult game. It’s a good challenge for us.”
"I just want to enjoy the end to this adventure"
Lastly, the Barça boss spoke about his plans after Camp Nou: “I don’t know what will happen in the future but what I do know is that my wife won’t be able to put up with me being in the house for a year. I just want to enjoy the end to this adventure.”
