The worst prognosis was confirmed in a statement issued by Barça's medical department this afternoon. The midfielder will miss the Juve tie and probably El Clásico.

Barça's worst fears were confirmed in a statement issued by the club's medical department early on Wednesday afternoon - Arda Turan will be sidelined for the next three weeks after tests conducted this morning revealed a muscular injury affecting his right adductor.

Arda to miss the Champions League quarter final against Juventus

It means that Luis Enrique will be without the Turkish midfielder for both home and away legs of the Champions League quarter final against Juventus and with almost all probability, El Clásico against Real Madrid on 23 April. Arda was reported has having suffered a groin injury while on international duty with Turkey. He played the full 90 minutes of Turkey's 2-0 win over Finland, but complained of discomfort after the game. It's the latest in a line of injuries during what has been one of his best seasons, despite a lack of regular playing time. Barça aim to transfer the Turkey captain ahead of next season although it will be nigh on impossible to recuperate most of 40 million euros they forked out for him in 2015.

Ter Stegen and Denis back training with Barça

On a happier note, Marc-André Ter Stegen and Denis Suárez both returned to train with the squad on Wednesday after being with their respective national sides. The keeper watched Germany's 1-4 victory over Azerbaijan from the subs' bench but savoured the 0-1 win against England on the Wembley turf. Meanwhile Denis found the target as Spain's Under-21s beat Denmark last week and started and finished Monday's 1-2 win against Italy in Rome. Standard practice under Luis Enrique is for the internationals to return to training the day after they arrive back from duty. Also back in the fold are Rakitic, Mascherano and the six players who weren't called up by their national teams - Masip, Mathieu, Digne, Sergi Roberto, Rafinha and Paco Alcácer.
