Guardiola on Brexit: "I admire that the British have voted..."

MANCHESTER CITY | GUARDIOLA

Guardiola on Brexit: "I admire that the British have voted..."

Manchester City's manager was asked for his thought on the triggering of Article 50 which will see Britain leave the European Union.

Pep Guardiola attended the media on Friday afternoon to look ahead to Sunday's trip to  Arsenal. But the City was also asked about his thoughts on the political situation in Great Britain following the decision to leave the European Union.

Brexit: "What I most admire about England is that, congratulations, you have voted. You have been allowed to decide and that is what democracy is about. Whatever happens later will be a new situation which will need to be adapted to. The English are very expectant about what will happen with Brexit. Until the legal side has all been approved and the UK's departure gets underway, which will take two years, we'll see how it all unravels. I don't know. If they don't what people from outside, then we'll have to go, or if they don't want to allow others in, then that's the way it will be. They are the ones who have to decide".

Emirates is like Anfield, says Guardiola

Arsenal: "They have a lot of quality. A team is at their most dangerous when they have lost a lot of games. The Emirates is like Anfield - a stadium where the atmosphere will be totally against  Manchester City. I've been there a couple of times with Bayern and Barcelona and it's always been difficult".

Arsène Wenger: "When Arsenal start winning again, their fans will be happy again. I can assure you of that, 100%. I am sure that the fans respect what Wenger has done for the club. I'm not here to judge what they should  or shouldn't do. We managers are judged on the results we get, not for anything else. [Mikel] Arteta very well and only has good words to say about Wenger. Mikel's ab great help to me because he knows the players personally, he knows the coach and his style of play... If Wenger has been in the Arsenal for so long, it must because he's good at his job".
