Barcelona face an uphill task at Camp Nou on Wednesday evening, where the LaLiga giants will have to overturn a 3-0 deficit from the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie against Juventus.
To do so Luis Enrique’s side will have to put three goals past Gianluigi Buffon without reply, something only one side has managed in 147 games against the Italy keeper in European competition: Manchester United won 3-0 in the Delli Alpi in the second group stage in 2002-03.
Since then, every result Buffon has been between the sticks for in Europe will see Juventus through in Camp Nou. Only twice has the 39-year-old been beaten four times, on both occasions by Bayern Munich: 1-4 in 2009-10 and 4-2 (after extra time) last season.
In total Buffon has kept a clean sheet 61 times in Europe, a percentage of 41.49 of all the games he has played. The Italy keeper is the only player remaining at Juve from the side that beat Barcelona at Camp Nou in the 2002-03 Champions League quarter-finals.

Messi has never scored against Juve keeper
Buffon is also among a very select group of keepers who have never been beaten by Leo Messi. The Argentinean goal machine has yet to score past the Juve keeper and drew another blank at the Juventus Stadium in the opening leg.
