The defender posted: "It bothers some to see how the Camp Nou crowd applaud their team despite elimination. They (alluding to Real Madrid) are used to hearing whistles despite qualifying for the semis…". The tweet was an indirect jibe at the Bernabéu crowd who began to whistle Cristiano Ronaldo before the striker from Madeira bagged his hat-trick on Tuesday night.

Follwing last Tuesday's game between Real Madrid and Bayern Munich at the Bernabeu, Pique tweeted an ellipsis which was re-tweeted 132.000 times with the subtle message alluding on how Madrid secured their passage to the semi final stage of the Champions League with two goals that were scored in an offside position.
