Uruguayan striker Edinson Cavani has committed to Paris Saint-Germain until June 2020. The Paris-based outfit confirmed the news on Tuesday evening via their social media sites along with a photo of the player after he'd signed the new deal alongside club president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi.

"This contract extension reaffirms the very strong confidence Edinson Cavani has in our project". Nasser Al-Khelaïfi said of the 30-year-old international, PSG's top scorer with 44 goals this season in all competitions.
Cavani's new contract will put to bed all of the rumours which placed the forward elsewhere this summer. Diego Costa's supposed departure from Chelsea had prompted rumours that Cavani could replace him at Stamford Bridge.
