The Argentine will be out of contract from 30 June. He joined City nine seasons ago from Espanyol and is the third player with most appearances in the squad.

Manchester City have confirmed that Argentine defender Pablo Zabaleta will be leaving the club at the end of the season. The 32-year-old, who arrived at the club in 2008 from Espanyol, will be free to move on when he contract expires on 30th June. He is is the third player to have made the most appearances in the current squad, behind Joe Hart and Vincent Kompany.

During his nine years in Manchester, Zabaleta has played 322 matches and built up a small collection of winners' medals - including the Premier League, FA Cup and two EFL League Cups.

"Pablo Zabaleta will leave City at the end of the season, bringing the curtain down on an incredible nine-year association with the Blues. Though there are a number of first-team player contracts currently under consideration, Pablo's situation is the only one that has been fully finalised", said a club statement.

The other Man City players whose contracts are due to expire on 30th June are: Yaya Touré, Jesús Navas, Gael Clichy, Bacary Sagna and Willy Caballero.
