With the big day drawing nearer, we take our daily look at how Juventus are gearing up for the final against Real Madrid in Cardiff on 3 June.

Barzagli feeling confident

Juventus defender Andrea Barzagli chatted to Sky Sports and believes the team can lift the treble: “I think we are a little more aware now than we were in Berlin. We have gained experience and we have more confidence than we had last time. The final will be played over one match and we know what we have to do – we have to play our best game possible.

Gattuso backing a Juventus win in Cardiff

Gennaro Gattuso says that Juventus “are an example for every club to following Serie A” and feels confident that it will be Gianluigi Buffon who lifts the trophy aloft in Cardiff next week. “Juve are the team everyone tries to emulate – they don’t seem like your typical Italian side – they have an international dimension”, Gattuso told Corriere della Sera. “They always make very clever signings in the transfer market and they even own their own stadium (In Italy, football stadiums tend to be the property of the local council).

“I hope and want Juventus to win this final”, Gattuso continued. “It would be fundamental for Italian football. Max was very good when he was coach at Milan. He’s not a cry baby. He is able to see things as a whole – he sees everything, and it was a great idea of his to play with a 4-2-3-1 system”.

Italy calling Morata, Pepe and James

Yesterday La Gazzetta dello Sport reported that restless Madrid striker Álvaro Morata has agreed to a 7.5 million euro-per annum offer from AC Milan. The Rossonera are willing to stump up 60 million euros to lure Morata back to Italy as the first marquee signing under the club’s new Chinese ownership. Zidane is very much against letting Morata leave the club this summer. Milan could also be the next destination for James Rodríguez and Pepe, according to Sportitalia, who claim that Inter have tabled an offer for the centre-back, who has still to clear up his future.
