The Navarran will oversee his last game on the Barcelona bench this evening ahead of his new role as Celta head coach.

Barcelona second coach Juan Carlos Unzué closes a chapter in his career this evening at the Vicente Calderon with another set to open next week with new club Celta Vigo. The 50 year old Pamplona born will be the fourth Celta coach with a ‘made in Barça’ profile since Carlos Mouriño became president of the Galicain outfit.

LUIS ENRIQUE UNZUE

Bulgarian Hristo Stoichkov was the first former Barça signing for the Celta president after the sacking of Fernando Vázquez as the 2006-2007 LaLiga campaign drew to a close. The flamboyant Bulgarian was unable to prevent the "Celestes" from dropping into the second tier of Spanish football and Stoichkov was relieved of his role after a poor start in the "Segunda".

Eusebio joins

Celta struggled on and off the field during the 2008-2009 campaign with Eusebio Sacristán brought into save the Galician side a drop into Segunda B. Eusebio showed his preference to bring younger players through and the likes of Hugo Mallo, Yoel, Michu and Joselu all bloomed under the current Real Sociedad manager. Eventually Mouriño felt the need for a change and Paco Herrera was drafted into replace the Valladolid born coach.

Luis Enrique LaLiga debut as coach

Luis Enrique spent one season with Celta (2013-2014) and kept the Vigo based side in the top flight with room to spare. Unzué was his second in command at the time and moved with the Asturian to Camp Nou for a three tenure at FC Barcelona. After coaching spells with Numancia and Racing before linking up with Luis Enrique, the 50 year old, once again will coach in an individual capacity.
