Nolito’s English adventure has not transpired as he would have hoped. Less than a year after joining Manchester City from Celta Vigo, the Spain international has stated his desire to leave.

The player, who hails from Andalucía, spoke to El Transistor about his future, and claims that his meeting with Sevilla sporting director was an accident.

Nolito seeks City exit

The English language has proved to be a stumbling block for Nolito.

“I have learned very little English… it’s so complicated. I’ve just got ‘tomorrow’, ‘good morning’, ‘good afternoon’, and that’s about it. My daughter’s face has gone a bad colour, it looks like she’s been living in a cave.”

“I have a contract at City, but I would like to leave. I haven’t played for six months, I’m dying to get back on the pitch.”

Despite that, Nolito maintains that his relationship with Pep Guardiola has not been harmed.

“I’m not angry with Guardiola and he has no reason to be angry with me.”

Óscar Arias meeting was by chance

A photo emerged on Tuesday of Nolito in conversation with Óscar Arias, the new sporting director at Sevilla, in a cafe in the city. He claims that this was an accidental, chance meeting.

“I was in Sevilla circumstantially; I went to buy a suit for my partner. I went for a coffee and, by chance, met the sporting director of Sevilla.”
