Bayern Munich entice Arsenal's Alexis with 25M euro salary

According to Kicker, Carlos Ancelotti's team are prepared to pay big money for the Chilean striker, making him the best-paid member of the squad.

Bayern Munich are willing to spend big money to lure Alexis Sánchez to the Bundesliga according to reports coming out of Germany. Football magazine Kicker claim Carlo Ancelotti's side will attempt to entice the Arsenal forward with a spectacular individual package which would include a pre-tax annual salary of 25 million euros - a weekly wage of 403,000 euros, as a result making him the squad's top earner. That privilege currently is enjoyed by Robert Lewandowski who earns a not-unsubstantial 346,000 euros per week, before tax.

Arsenal's failure to qualify for the Champions League, a drawback

Such an offer would make it very difficult for Arsenal to keep hold of Alexis. His contract expires in June 2018 and, while the club is confident he will sign a new deal, the player is still listening to offers from other clubs. That the team won't be in next season's Champions League is another factor against them. Manchester City, who will be in the Champions League group stage, are also reported to be interested in the forward, who is currently in Moscow with the Chile squad for the Confederations Cup.

Alexis says he is focused only on his commitments with Chile in Russia: “I am keeping up with what my agent's doing but for now, I am concentrating on the Confederations Cup and hope to do well in the tournament. My agent is taking care of everything else. He knows what I want and he'll sit down with the club and find the best option for me".
