Guti: managing the Madrid first team is my objective

El entrenador del Real Madrid Juvenil, Guti.

Fernando Díaz

Diario AS

The Juvenil A coach, who led his team to a double, spoke about his Bernabéu future, Zidane's achievements, and Marco Asensio's potential.

Guti guided his Real Madrid Juvenil A side to Copa del Rey glory on Sunday, with a 4-1 victory over rivals Atlético. The former-Madrid player shared his delight on the radio programme El Transistor, and stated that he would like to manage the first team in the future.

Guti: Zidane has to be a reference point for me

Being a manager: “I have grown to like it, I’m very comfortable and really happy that Real Madrid have given me this opportunity. You have to continue growing and absorbing football, because even though I have been a player, being a manager is much more complicated.”

Zidane: “All Madridistas hope that Zidane will keep doing what he is doing for many years. We’re proud of our coach, and the great season that the first team have had is reflected in the one we have had. Zidane has to be a reference point for me. The objective for everyone is to be in the first team.”

Real Madrid first team is the aim

Managing the first team: “We aim as high as possible, and it would be stupid for me to say that managing the first team at Real Madrid is not my objective. But that is a long way away, and you have to go step by step. Zidane is doing a great job, and I want to learn. The future is a long way away.”

Real Madrid academy: “The players who come from within have a lot of desire.”

Asensio has the sky as his limit

Marco Asensio: “Asensio is a much better player that I was. The sky is the limit for him, he has a good head on his shoulders, and what he does in the world of football will depend on him.”
