Congratulations are in order for Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese player left the Portugal squad on Wednesday after defeat on penalties to Chile in the Confederations Cup semi-final with the blessing of his manager, Fernando Santos. In a press-release, Ronaldo confirmed that he had left in order to meet his newly-born children.
Cristiano Ronaldo fathers twins
Ronaldo has fathered twins, a boy and a girl, who will in principle be called Mateo and Eva. The Real Madrid forward already has a seven-year-old son, Cristiano Junior.

Ronaldo will not finish Confed Cup with Portugal
Ronaldo will not play for Portugal in the third-place-play-off, against the loser of Germany v Mexico. He released the following statement:
“I have been on national team service, as always, in body and mind, while in the knowledge that my two children had been born. Unfortunately, we have not achieved the sporting objective we set out to meet, but I am sure that we’ll keep making the Portuguese people happy.”
