Real Betis Balompie first team captain Joaquín Sánchez spoke to the media after the club presented the new 2017/18 playing kit earlier today. He analysed the latest situation at the LaLiga side and the prospect of the season ahead under new coach Quique Setién.
New Season: "The first day is always exciting and having so many youngsters at the kit launch is excellent. A new season always brings new hope and it's inspiring for us to see that so many fans have renewed their season tickets for the new campaign".
Objective: "We need to aim high as the last few seasons havent been so successful. The key to a good start is a decent pre-season and that's our initial objective".
New coach Setién: "As captain I had to introduce the squad to Gustavo Poyet last season and once again I was on duty to present the new coach to the team. We're looking forward to working with him".
Ceballos: "I've spoken with him as a team-mate and one of the veterans of the squad. I've reiterated on how important a player he is for Betis but the final decision is his. What's important is that he does what's best for him and for Real Betis. I'd love to think I could remain playing alongside Ceballos this season and hope he stays".
Retirement: "That time comes for everyone but at present I'm really excited about the new season. I don't know when that moment will come to hang up my boots but with this being my last contracted season with the club is a spur to enjoy it even more".
