Barcelona have offered 30m euros plus add-ons for Benfica right-back Nelson Semedo, according to a report in Portuguese newspaper Record on Wednesday.
With Arsenal refusing to negotiate over Héctor Bellerín, Barça sporting director Robert Fernández has been forced to turn to other options, with Semedo seemingly in the frame.
Barça are understood to have been tracking the 23-year-old, who proved one of the chief revelations of the 2016/17 season in Portugal, throughout the past year.
Benfica chief seeking 50m for Semedo
The defender has an 80m-euro release clause in his Benfica contract, and the Lisbon club's president, Filipe Vieira, is not thought to be keen to sell for under 50m.
Semedo began his career as a midfielder before being converted to full-back, and has made 65 appearances for Benfica since breaking into the first team in 2015/16.
Also linked with Manchester United, he has been capped six times by Portugal, having been handed his international debut in October 2015.
