Barcelona named James Costos as their new strategic advisor in America but the former ambassador to Spain and Andorra might be living a secret life as a Madridista. The Massachusetts-born Greek American tweeted out Hala Madrid!!! after los Blancos won the Champions League.
The former Ambassador has closes links to Spain given his previous role and it might have been a moment of sheer excitement to see a LaLiga side win the biggest European trophy on offer. Or maybe it's just all part of his strategy to increase Barcelona's brand.

Barcelona's official statement said: "James Costos is a very important person for us who is very well positioned in the United States, a country where FC Barcelona’s presence is getting bigger and bigger, not just through the commercial office in New York but also through our schools, academies and now women’s soccer too”.
While Costos said, "It is one of the greatest honors of my life to be able to represent Barça in America and I am highly motivated to build links between U.S. institutions and FC Barcelona. A very good job has been done, and there is still a lot more to be done when I go back to the United States, above all through the FCB Escola soccer schools, the Foundation and the Barça Innovation Hub, which add so much value to the club”.
The former ambassador responded to the speculation online with a brand new tweet saying: "As US Ambassador I supported all teams in the Spanish League. Now as a private citizen & fan, I'm honored to support Barça's growth in US."
