DIARIO AS

Carlos Suárez has denied that he is negotiating with the Pozzo family, who own Watford and Udinese, over the sale of the Segunda División club.

Relations between the Pozzo family and Real Valladolid appear to have tightened in recent weeks.

Watford loan several players to Valladolid

The Italian family, who owned Granada until 2016 and still control Watford and Udinese, visited Valladolid in early July to cast an eye over the club’s facilities. That visit took place after four Colombian players joined Valladolid’s feeder club, which plays in Segunda B, on loan from Watford. Sulayman Marrah has also joined Valladolid’s first team on loan from the Premier League outfit.

Reports in the Italian media assured that Gino Pozzo, the owner of Watford (his father Giampaolo owns Udinese), was negotiating with Real Valladolid President Carlos Suárez over the acquisition of Las Blanquivioletas.

According to the same sources, Gino Pozzo is eager to retake the reins of a Spanish club after selling Granada to Chinese investors last year, and has identified Real Valladolid as a viable option.

Yet speaking from Valladolid’s pre-season training camp on the Costa del Sol on Thursday, Carlos Suárez categorically denied any type of negotiation, or contact of that nature, with the Pozzo family.

For the moment, it appears that a steady flow of players from North London is the only form of collaboration between Valladolid and the Pozzos family.
