Jesús Navas has returned to his boyhood club Sevilla on a three-year contract with the option of a further season after spending four years in the Premier League with Manchester City, the club confirmed on Tuesday.
Navas takes Sevilla's signings to seven
Navas thus becomes the seventh signing of the summer under new coach Eduardo Berizzo, joining Luis Muriel, Éver Banega, his former City teammate Nolito, Guido Pizarro, Sébastian Corchia and Simon Kjaer through the doors of the Sánchez Pizjuán.
The optional fourth season on Navas’ contract depends on a series of objectives being met and although the winger will be 32 in November the club have few if any concerns over his physical fitness with the player never having suffered a serious injury during his career. Navas made 36 appearances for City last season and proved his versatility with some games at right back after Pep Guardiola called on him to fill in in defence.
