Anyone hoping to pick up a Borja Mayoral or Marcos Llorente shirt from Real Madrid's official club store at the Bernabéu will be in for a surprise. Neither player's shirts are on display while all of the rest of the squad's shirts, including the recent arrivals, are. It suggest that Real Madrid are not entirely sure that Mayoral and Llorente will form part of Zidane's squad this season and both could be loaned out again.
Mayoral and Marcos Llorente without squad numbers
The rest of the squad are all present: Keylor Navas (1), Carvajal (2), Vallejo (3), Sergio Ramos (4), Varane (5)... All is in order up until Lucas Vázquez's number 17. The number 18 which Marcos Llorente inherited from Mariano and wore during the pre-season is absent. The number 19 is currently vacant - it was originally Luka Modric's number but he has now taken the number 10, which became free after James left to join Bayern Munich. New signings Vallejo (3), Theo (15) and Ceballos (24) all have their squad numbers.
Mayoral elected Morata's old No.21 shirt
Mayoral chose the No.21 shirt following Álvaro Morata's departure and he wore that number during the pre-season. Both Llorente and Mayoral are members of the first team squad according to the club, and yet their shirts are not available to the buying public.
