Liverpool have rejected a third Barcelona offer for Philippe Coutinho of around 125 million euros plus add-ons, according to several reports in the UK.
Barça have already failed with bids of 78 and 98 million euros for the attacker, who has been targeted by the LaLiga club - along with Borussia Dortmund's Ousmane Dembélé - as they seek to replace Neymar.
Barcelona director this week claimed Coutinho deal "close"
Liverpool last week released a statement declaring their "definitive stance" that Coutinho wouldn't be leaving this summer, with the 25-year-old then handing in a transfer request.
Despite the Reds' insistence that he's not for sale, Barcelona director Pep Segura claimed on Wednesday that Los Azulgranas were "close" to signing the ex-Inter Milan man.
"I don't know why other people are saying what they are saying," said Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp in the wake of Segura's comments. "I don't even know them, especially this guy. I've never even met him."
Coutinho out of weekend Crystal Palace match
Coutinho has been ruled out of Saturday's Premier League clash with Crystal Palace with a back injury, having already missed his side's top-flight opener at Watford and their Champions League play-off first leg away to Hoffenheim.
