Atlético de Madrid coach Diego Simeone looked back over Saturday's emphatic 1-5 drubbing of Las Palmas but the Argentinean began his match analysis by explaining that in spite of the scoreline, it wasn't an easy game by any means for his side.
El Cholo plays down Las Palmas thumping
You asked Correa to step up his game and that's precisely what he did...
It was a good game. The team showed ambition and energy from the off and the players knew where they could punish Las Palmas. But later, the game took on a different tone with Las Palmas managing the ball and looking dangerous.
Are Las Palmas any easy side for Atleti to play against?
The opening two goals took some of the pressure off. There aren't an easy side to play against. We managed to get it right with the changes we made to the system and that speaks highly of the players.
Could you have imagined the game would have turned out this way?
I always try to imagine things turning out as best as possible. We were strong and ambitious during the opening minutes and showed that we wanted to take hold of the game. Later on we tried to punish Las Palmas when gaps started to open up.
Humility required to beat Las Palmas, says Simeone
If your players defended like Las Palmas did tonight, what would you say to your players?
I cannot talk about other teams, only mine.
Are Las Palmas too comfortable to play against?
Nothing is easy. They made it 2-1. Without the humility to run and fight to win the ball, we wouldn't have gained a result like this.
