Nigeria 4-0 Cameroon live: match report
Nigeria edged closer to a sixth World Cup appearance after an impressive performance in Uyo this evening as Cameroon were the victims, totally outclassed by Gernot Rohr's side.
The Indomitable Lions started the better and Bassogog was his usual busy self on the left flank creating danger with mazy runs dangerous balls into the Nigerian box that his colleagues failed to capitalise on.

Ighalo opens scoring
As the game wore on Nigeria grew in confidence and it was a question of time before the men in green opened their account as former Granada striker Ighalo latched onto to a lose ball after a wayward kick-out from Cameroon stopper Fabrice Ondoa. The 28 year forward shook off his defender and unleashed an accurate left foot strike to open the home side's account and from then on there was no turning back for the Super Eagles. John Obi Mikel put the home side two up at the close of the half being alert to fire into the roof of the Cameroon net from a corner.
Virtuoso Victor Moses
Cameroon pushed forward in the second period and left swathes of open space which Nigeria expertly utilised. Victor Moses and Moses Simon expertly linking up throughout the game and it was this pair who were instrumental in the third goal as the Chelsea player slotted passed Ondoa. Moses turned provider for the fourth with a pin-point delivery onto the head of Leicester City new-boy Kelechi Iheanacho to seal a memorable evening for Nigerian football.
Both sides go head-to-head again next Monday and anything short of a win for Hugo Broos' men can see Cameroon say goodbye to Russian World Cup dreams.
