Arsenal coach Arsène Wenger acknowledged today that his club offered €100 million for French midfielder Thomas Lemar and said he remains interested in the player.

Lemar didn't want to move

The French coach indicated on the program Téléfoot, broadcast on "TF1" that the transfer was not carried out because Lemar preferred to remain in the Monaco.

The refusal, he said, has not diminished his interest in the midfielder, who he said is "very balanced" and a "complete" player both defensively and offensively.

Lemar, 21, scored two of France's four goals in their win over the Netherlands last Thursday in the qualifying match of Group A for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
