John Terry said goodbye to former teammate Diego Costa on social media after Atletico Madrid and Chelsea officially came to an agreement over the signing of the striker. Costa arrived in Madrid airport on Friday with eyes on a medical and to get started with training as soon as possible.
The former Chelsea defender sent a message to Costa that pointed out how much he was made to suffer against the Spanish attacker during training and how undervalued he turned out to be. Terry was cut loose by the club during the summer by Antonio Conte, the same man who sent Costa a cold-hearted text informing him he was no longer in his plans.
Good Luck @diego.costa in your next journey my friend ⚽️ An unbelievable player and one of the nicest and funniest guys I have met in football, playing against him in training and games was an absolute nightmare, one of the best and underrated players I have played with and against. He gave everything for our club every time he wore a Chelsea shirt and was a born winner. Going to miss you mate Good luck to you and your family JT 💙 @chelseafc 🏆
Diego Costa played 120 times for Chelsea and scored 59 goals in his three seasons at the English club where he shared a dressing room with Terry.
