Not to be outdone by his colleagues, Ramos today took to Instagram with an image of himself relaxing at home following Saturday's LaLiga win at Alavés, wearing shorts, a T-shirt - and, pulled high up his shins, white socks featuring large, red cherries and bright green stalks.
His daring sartorial choice has brought a raft of comments, with (at the time of writing) 2,200 users posting their reactions, of which most focus on the socks.
Although given the thumbs-up by many - "Love the cherry socks", wrote one user, with another agreeing, "I love your unique style" - some were less impressed.
"Those socks look worse on him than a pair of pistols strapped around Christ's waist," quipped one commenter, while a fellow Instagramer declared simply: "You look ridiculous".
