Gareth Bale could be faced with a fresh setback after he was taken off in the second half of Real Madrid's victory over Borussia Dortmund with what appeared to be muscle cramping. The Welsh man opened the scoring with a wonderful volley but was withdrawn on 86 minutes and was replaced by Lucas Vazquez.
According to 'El Golaz' on GOL, the attacker will undergo tests on Thursday to examine the extent of the muscular problems he suffered in Germany on Tuesday night. They also go on to state that the problem could be in his hamstring and not the calf, as initially reported after the game.
Real Madrid said, after the game in which Bale starred, that there was no injury and that the 28-year-old suffered cramp in his calf due to his efforts over the 83 minutes he was on the field. Zinedine Zidane repeated that sentiment in the press conference after that match and said it was the calf muscle where he felt the twinge.
